For construction works in Hong Kong, the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) is undoubtedly getting a heavier weight. As one of the BIM technology advocates, CHAIN Technology Development was gladly invited to present topics on the idea of Building Information Modeling Plus (BIM+) with engineering professionals, at “Technical Seminar: Unleashing the Potential of Hybrid Reality to Smart City Applications” held by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE).
CHAIN ‘s flagship product, Hybrid Reality Platform (HRP), integrates BIM, Reality Modeling and other 3D modeling technologies into a unified cloud platform. HRP is literally built on the foundation of BIM, adding on other advanced technologies and features to reach a new dimension: BIM+. At the seminar, Jackie Wong, Business Development Manager at CHAIN, said the informative yet intuitive platform facilitates simulations for design and planning, and also effective monitoring of project progress.
As a cutting-edge Smart City management system, HRP integrates innovative technologies, such as Location Intelligence, Cloud Streaming Technology, Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data Management and Artificial Intelligence, into a single visualized dashboard, enabling informed decision-making.
In the presentation, Jackie shared experience of HRP real-life applications, range from Facility and Property Management, Construction Progress Monitoring to Simulation-based Training. HRP is a cost-effective and time-efficient alternative to traditional practice, especially in the field of Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC). It largely reduces rework as clashes could be detected in early stage, and enhances mutual collaboration between stakeholders. “What we start from is a Smart Site, it would eventually grow out to build up Smart City as a whole.” Jackie said.
